Starting Your Meditation Practice
Today’s woman leads a very complicated life. She is a home maker and a working woman. Its not easy playing dual roles and its just keeps on adding to her stress level. Everyday it’s a new task and a new beginning for and it just goes on and on.
But there are effective ways to combat stress and the most effective and easy way is meditation. It’s a key to all your problems and worries. If one can start early in life practicing meditation, awareness level and intuition develop. A lot of problems can be avoided with meditation, including nausea during pregnancy, menopause discomfort and old age joint pains.
What is meditation? Its nothing but being at the present moment and taking each day as it comes. With continuous relaxations one can learn to go into deeper meditation. Its all about attitude and discipline. With commitment and consistency one can meditate into deeper states.
But the most commonly asked question is, where do I start? What do I do? The easiest way to start on your own at home is through relaxations. It can either be with a mantra or with visualization. In guided visualization I guide people with specific visualization that help them combat specific problems.
For beginners I have given a visualization below that will help them relax and it’s a good way to start.
- To begin with sit or lie down in a comfortable position
- Close your eyes
- Relax and breath deeply
- Imagine a golden light entering the top of your head and breath in deeply
- Move your awareness to the center of your forehead and take a 7 deep breaths
- Move your awareness to the center of your throat and take a 7 deep breaths
- Move your awareness to the center of your naval and four fingers below your naval and take a 7 deep breaths
- Move your awareness to the tip of your spinal cord and take a 7 deep breaths
 At the end of this meditation you will feel relaxed and peaceful.
There are various types of meditation that I have devised over a period of time that can help people in different illnesses, depression and also stress. They can be learnt and practiced by anyone it will in turn change their entire outlook towards life.
All we need to understand that meditation is not sitting in one place and its about attitude and discipline. And if practiced with correct attitude one can achieve amazing results.
